Fly-tippers have been warned they will face action after household furniture, van seats, and “a large number” of bicycles were dumped in Ramsey.
The items were left in a lane behind Bar Logo on Parliament Street.
Ramsey Town Commissioners said it is “disappointed to see an increase of fly-tipping in the Town,” adding: “This is not only an eyesore, but puts additional pressure on our staff who ultimately end up having to remove such items.”
Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward, stating: “If you have witnessed someone leaving these items in the lane or have any information which may help our investigation, please get in touch with the Technical Department on 810100 (option 3).
“Any information received will be treated with the strictest confidence.”
Fly-tipping is an offence under the Litter Act 1972, with offenders facing a Fixed Penalty Notice or prosecution.
The Commissioners warned: “If we can identify who is responsible, we will issue a Fixed Penalty Notice and take further legal action if necessary.
“The maximum fine for offences under the Litter Act 1972 is £2,500.00.”
