The Streetwise initiative is returning for TT 2026, providing on the ground support for young people during one of the island’s busiest and most high pressure periods.
This year the service will be led by Family Action, working with St Christopher’s, Isle of Man Constabulary and Douglas City Council to offer a visible, approachable presence across Douglas.
The programme, created more than 15 years ago, aims to help young people navigate the additional risks and pressures that can arise during TT fortnight.
Streetwise’s return comes ahead of the transfer of children’s residential homes from St Christopher’s to Family Action on July 1, ensuring continuity of support.
A staffed base will operate each evening on Douglas Promenade, offering a safe space, advice and practical help, with teams also patrolling nearby areas.
The initiative will run daily from 6pm to midnight, with young people, or adults concerned about them, able to call or text 07624 404512 for direct support.
