Corinthians have gone top on goal difference as the Premier League title race took another twist.

The whites went top after Rushen and Laxey played out a 0-0 draw as all three sides maintained their unbeaten starts.

The Ballafletcher side welcomed Old Boys on Saturday and despite the gulf in their seasons so far, were level at the break as Luke Murray’s hat trick was equalled by two Ryan Gartland penalties and one from Callum Brew.

The second half saw Josh Ridings score two for Corinthians, including one from the spot, which gave them the 5-3 win to put them top on goal difference with Rushen second and Laxey third.

O’s

The other unbeaten side in the top flight, Onchan, continued their bright start to the season as they beat Ayre 2-4 in Andreas thanks to goals from Tom Creer, Eithan Leivers (2) and Tom O’Neill. Alfy Scott and Declan Cummins scored for the tangerines.

Braddan also condemned Foxdale to more misery as they beat the Miners 6-1.

The other game in the top flight saw Ramsey beat St John’s 4-2.

Castletown

In the race for promotion, Castletown ended Marown’s 100% start to the season as they beat the farmers 6-2 at Malew Road thanks to goals from Alex Crawley, Louis Dean, Charlie Quirk, Alastair Ronan (2) and Lewis Fletcher.

Colby also further pressed their push for promotion as they beat Pulrose 2-1 at Station Fields thanks to goals from Ste Collister and Jordan Edge.

The other results in Div2 saw Malew beat D&D 7-1 and RYOBC beat Governors Athletic 3-1.
