A Freedom of Information request has revealed taxpayers pay out £4,600 a year to buy newspapers for the island’s judiciary.
They receive five copies of The Times, as well as the Examiner and Manx Independent each week.
The papers are supplied to members of the judiciary and two local newspapers are supplied twice a week to one officer located in another department within the General Registry.
The cost for the last 12 months is approximately £4,628 (Four thousand, six hundred and twenty eight) (£89 per week).
Papers are also bought for ministers and central communications, but this figure isn’t included in the FoI.
