Could today be the day we have a new horizon? For today, is the unveiling of the 2025 Budget.
The Treasury Minster will deliver the Budget for the new financial year by 11:30am this morning.
Until then, you will have to wait with anticipation for what Treasury has in store for 2025.
With that said, I shall take a step into the magical mystery land of poetry, a world that seems to be diminishing, similar to Government’s reserves.
A New Horizon?
The year before was steeped in strain,
A budget heavy with tax and pain.
Thresholds frozen, wages tight,
Workers bracing through the fight.
Now, with Dr. Allinson at the helm,
The Treasury steers this fiscal realm.
Will 2025 bring winds of change,
Or simply more of what feels strange?
Will taxes rise, or start to fall?
Will the government still stand above it all?
The working class, a weary crew,
Can they expect a chance to renew?
Perhaps there’s talk of aid and care,
For those who struggle to stay aware—
The fragile balance between need and greed,
What’s promised now to help them proceed?
With state costs at dizzy heights,
And healthcare bills that spark new fights,
Where will the funds be found to mend,
When budgets stretch and gaps don’t end?
Dr. Allinson, with plans in hand,
Must chart a course for this fair land.
Will he ease the burdens felt so deep,
Or keep the climb both steep and steep?
Will 2025 bring shifts or more,
New ways to walk, or just restore?
We hope for relief, a breath, a sigh,
That doesn’t come with cost too high.
So, eyes upon the coming day,
As figures and debates make their way,
A hopeful heart, though tempered still,
Awaits the budget’s final bill.
