The Ben-my-Chree will be heading off on charter to Stena Line early next month.
The vessel is anticipated to operate on Stena’s Irish Sea routes, including Holyhead to Dublin and Fishguard to Rosslare, as required.
Due to run from early November to December, the agreement includes a provision for the Ben-my-Chree to be recalled for Steam Packet service at any point if needed.
Following the charter period, the vessel will undergo planned drydock maintenance before returning to provide cover during the Christmas and New Year period.
Layup
The flagship Manxman will continue its usual scheduled winter sailings to Heysham and Liverpool.
Manannan will enter her winter layup after her final 2025 sailing on October 26, returning to service on March 27 2026.
Managing Director Brian Thomson said: ‘I’d like to thank my team for their hard work in securing this charter.
“The terms of the charter comply with the Sea Services Agreement and put the needs of the lifeline service first, with Ben-my-Chree being able to be called back at any time to service the island as well as providing cover over the busy holiday period.’
The MV Arrow remains on her separate charter to DFDS in the Channel Islands until March 2026
