A film has now been released on Dave Madsen-Mygdal, a privateer road racer who started racing at the Isle of Man TT in the early 1980’s and has since amassed 149 TT race starts.
Manx.News spoke to creators of the film Chip Gulland and Felipe Costa, as well as the legend himself, Dave Madsen-Mygdal:
‘Faster Than Life’ gives an exclusive insight into the tight-knit road racing world, family, friendships, the highs and lows, and generational involvement.
Faster than Life released
The feature documentary follows Dave in 2019 through the two COVID-cancelled TT years and culminates in the behind-the-scenes action of TT 2022.
Faster than Life encapsulates everything that is road racing: the thrills, the spills, the blood, sweat, and tears, and mostly the absolute necessity for teamwork and how the racing community is family.
The independent film has been produced by Felipe Costa and Chip Gulland, who are based on the Isle of Man and have worked on a number of projects together, combining aerial filming and experience in the Brazilian film industry.
Final touches
The film story is 100% complete and is available to watch behind a paywall.
Proceeds and merchandise sales will go into polishing up the film before it can be released to a broader audience.
The support and participation of road racing fans will be greatly appreciated.
