Consumer inflation climbed by 0.3% in June, bringing it to an overall rate of 3%.
The biggest jump over the last 12 months was tea, which has risen by +15.1%.
Driving lessons, window cleaning and bacon also saw increases, while gas, bread and multivitamin tablets stemmed the rise.
The government said: “The category ‘Restaurants and hotels’ exhibits the biggest increase, having risen 8.7% compared with 12
months ago. ‘Catering’ has seen the biggest increase in this category (9.8%).
“The second biggest increase is ‘Education’, having risen 6.5% compared with 12 months ago. ‘Pre-school fees’ has seen the biggest increase in this category (12.7%).
“The third biggest contributor to the rate of inflation was ‘Alcoholic beverages and tobacco’, which shows a rise of 5.7%. ‘Tobacco’ saw the largest rise (8.3%) in this category.”
