The End of The Drought (Sort of)

I can already hear some of you moaners bitching at me for calling it a drought, but for this time of year, it isn’t far off.

The definition of a drought is as follows: A period of abnormally dry weather sufficiently long enough to cause a serious hydrological imbalance.

If you’re reading this Adrian Cowin aka The Actual Weather Guru, please tell me I’m sort of right and that we have experienced an exceptionally dry March and start to April.

Drought Ends

With Mystic Moz declaring a drought, I’ll now tell you that the end is in sight and we will all once again be moaning about the rain.

But, we do very much need it – as I said on Welcome to Friday (the island’s, if not the world’s, best news podcast) if we don’t have rain, crops done grow.

If crops don’t grow, there is a shortage of food. If there’s a shortage of food, it gets more expensive. Get it? Got it? Good.

With the above said, hopefully you dear reader will refraining from huffing when I break the following news to you.

Today is will soon turn cloudy after a bright start, and some showery rain is likely during the afternoon and evening.

With mainly light or moderate winds, with the maximum temperature 13°C.

Looking to tomorrow (April 13), there will be sunny intervals and only very isolated showers.

Grow Baby Grow

Thankfully (again think of your food prices), next week will see periods of rain at times – hopefully this will enable some growing.

Monday a very similar day with sunny intervals and isolated showers forecast.

As for Tuesday (April 15), it’ll be generally dry for much of the day, risk of rain arriving late evening and overnight.

Mercury is a thing of the past, thank the bloody lord, but we are now in for a full moon this evening.

Naturally, some lunatics will be a complete pain in the arse this weekend (it isn’t their fault, they just can’t control their behaviour when the moon comes out to play).

Now, this full moon is occurs when the Sun in Aries forms an opposition to the Libra Moon.

It’s a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of something begun at the New Moon.

Heightened emotions, romance, fertilisation, relationship drama, and epiphanies are themes.
