Garff Commissioners has confirmed that the popular swimming raft at Laxey will return next summer.
It will feature the same ladder design following its successful debut this year.
The authority said: “We did take our time over getting a solution because we wanted to get it right after ladder problems were encountered elsewhere – if they’re too long they break.”
The Commissioners extended their gratitude for inter-authority cooperation from Jason at Port Erin Commissioners for the advice and assistance in finding a practical and very effective solution.
It solved the problem of getting on the platform; for us older folks especially.
The raft was removed from the water earlier than planned after sustaining damage in rough seas.
The authority added: “Had to be removed a little early as it broke its mooring on Saturday. Thanks to all those who helped us get it out safely and quickly in the rough seas experienced at the weekend.”
