From Monday the Tholt Y Will road will be closed for nine days whilst the DoI undertake drainage works.
The road will close on October 14 from 9am, between the junction with the Sulby Claddagh Road and the entrance to the Sulby Reservoir.
The closure order will only be utilised between 9am and 4pm on weekdays.
But, if a new culvert has to be installed the closure may have to change to be on a 24hr per day basis until the culvert work is complete.
Tholt Y Will’s road closure will be in place until no later than Wednesday, October 23.
Tholt Y Will Works
The DoI’s work will comprise ditch and gully clearing between Sulby and Sulby Reservoir.
There will also be exploratory excavations in the switchback section of the road between the reservoir and the Tholt Y Will car park at the top of the valley.
Dependent on the results of these works, a new culvert may have to be installed across the carriageway to counter ongoing issues with surface water.
Manx Utilities will be working on unrelated works under temporary traffic lights at the bottom of Sulby Glen Road, near the Claddagh junction during the same period.
During closure periods vehicular access to all properties will be from the direction of Sulby.
