Thompson Rejoins Team York Suzuki For TT

Joey Thompson will return to Team York Suzuki for the 2026 Isle of Man TT, marking his seventh appearance at the event.

The 28‑year‑old Yorkshire rider will contest the RST Superbike, RL360 Superstock and Milwaukee Senior TT races aboard a GSX‑R1000, as the team targets further progress in the 1000cc classes.

Thompson, who made his TT debut in 2017 at just 19, has now accumulated 21 race starts and has steadily improved since stepping up to the big bike categories in 2022.

His best lap of 125.415mph, set during the 2024 Senior TT, highlights his growing competitiveness. He has so far earned two Silver and three Bronze replicas, consistently finishing inside the top 20.

Team Manager Kevin Pearson said the squad was delighted to retain Thompson for another year, praising his maturity and commitment. “We’re confident he can build on his previous results,” he said.

Thompson said he was pleased to continue with the team, describing the environment as “pressure‑free” and the GSX‑R1000 as a reliable platform.

“For 2026, I have no big expectations. I just want to enjoy riding the best course in the world,” he said.

With continuity in both machinery and team setup, Thompson heads into 2026 aiming to convert experience into stronger results across all three 1000cc races.
