A report into the condition of Tramway Terrace in Douglas will be made available in the next few days.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall told Tynwald this week that work was completed over the Christmas period to make the site watertight.
An engineer has been carrying out an inspection of the building ahead of the horse tram season.
Previously, the DOI said the building would be demolished due to structural concerns but backtracked after a further inspection found the building could be saved.
In October 2023, a Government spokesperson said: ‘This is not necessarily the case and DoI are committed to ensure they follow appropriate procedure in regard to registered buildings.’
