More than £122,000 has been raised for Hospice Isle of Man through its Christmas Tree Recycling Service, following the completion of the scheme for the 12th year.
The latest collection took place over the weekend of January 10 and 11, during which just over 900 real Christmas trees were collected across the island.
The 2025 service raised more than £15,500 for the charity, while also diverting 11,100kg of trees from landfill to be recycled.

The initiative is delivered through a long-standing partnership between Hospice Isle of Man, the Isle of Man Post Office, Tel’s Skips and Ballaneven Compost & Horticulture.
In return for a donation, trees are collected by volunteers using Post Office vans, with support this year from FC Isle of Man players, University College Isle of Man students and additional assistance from Graylaw.
The trees are shredded at Tel’s Skips before being processed into compost at Ballaneven, some of which is donated back to Hospice for use in its gardens.

“We cannot thank our partners and volunteers enough for giving up their own time to support us with this initiative. Without them, we simply couldn’t do it. All of the money raised through our Christmas Tree Recycling Service goes towards supporting the work of everyone here at Hospice, helping our patients and their loved ones when they need it most, so thank you.”
