Tributes Pour in For Peter Padgett

Tributes are being paid to the founder of one of the TT’s most historic teams, Peter Padgett.

The team has been part of Manx motorcading for decades and features names including Conor Cummins, John McGuinness, Steve Hislop and Davey Todd.

As well as founding the company and team, Peter competed in the TT, Manx Grand Prix and Southern 100 races.

Announcing his death, Padgett’s, based in Batley, said: “It is with an extremely heavy heart that today 9th March 2026, we said goodbye to our founder Mr Peter Padgett.

“He died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife Audrey, son Clive, daughter in law Sue, daughter Cath and granddaughter Helen.

“We would ask for your kindness and understanding at the very difficult time for our family. So as many Irish road race fans would say “there’s only one Peter Padgett”!”

Tributes

Reacting to the news, No Limits Racing said it was “deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Peter Padgett”.

It added: “Peter was one of the true characters of our sport — a man whose passion for motorcycle racing helped shape the paddock for generations.

“Through Padgett’s Motorcycles, he supported and inspired countless riders and teams, and his presence at circuits across the UK and the Isle of Man TT will never be forgotten.”

Theirs was followed by hundreds of well wishers who extended their condolences to the family.
