Two Local Authorities to Hold Hustings

Two local authorities are holding hustings next week before residents are due to go to the polls to choose new commissioners.

Castletown and Ramsey will host candidates at Market Square and Ramsey Grammar High School respectively on Tuesday, April 22.

The events will give residents the opportunity to ask questions and ‘engage in discussion’ with prospective board members.

Hustings

Castletown’s hustings will start at 6.45pm with Arbory and Rushen Commissioners Clerk Phil Gawne as chair, whilst Ramsey’s begins at 7pm with Captain of the Parish of Lonan Stephen Carter chairing the hustings.

Residents who aren’t able to attend are encouraged to send questions to the respective chairs in advance of the events.

In case of bad weather in Castletown, the event will be moved to the town hall on Farrants Way.

A meeting with some of the candidates standing in Peel is being held at 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 22 at the Corrin Hall.
