Dr Alex Allinson is to move a motion that could open the door to the island legalising recreational cannabis.
The Ramsey MHK will bring the debate to the May sitting.
His motion would call for Citizen’s Jury to be established by the end of this year to consider timelines for the implementation of the agreed policies and regulated environment which would allow for the sale of cannabis.
