Unemployment on the Isle of Man has increased when compared with June from last year.
The latest Isle of Man Labour Market Report for June 2025 shows that compared to June 2024, unemployment has risen by 33 persons.
However, when compared to last month’s report, unemployment has decreased by 13 persons from May 2025.
Unemployment
The reports shows that 487 job vacancies remained at the Job centre in June 2025, which is an increase of 13 vacancies compared to May.
Of these, 60% (291) were full time positions and 40% (196) were part time.
Of the 291 full time positions, 12% (36) are classified as Seasonal/Temporary/Fixed, while 18% (35) of the 196 part-time positions are classified as Seasonal/Temporary/Fixed.
It is estimated that 728 individuals are unemployed and looking for work in June 2025 compared with 741 in May 2025.
This amounts to an unemployment rate of 1.6%.
Sectors
The sectors with the highest numbers of unemployment in June of 2025 were:
- Miscellaneous services (33)
- Catering and entertainment (29)
- Retail distribution (28)
- Other business services (17)
- Construction (17)
- Public administration (15)
Sectors with the highest number of job vacancies in June were:
- Medical and health services (99)
- Catering and entertainment (65)
- Accountancy and legal services (48)
- Retail distribution (45)
- Other business services (35)
- Tourist accommodation (28)
