The Government have published its September update for the Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Strategy.
The update provides detail on the ongoing work to improve government services for those in the ASC community.
ASC strategy steering group has held its first meeting; the steering group consists of public servants, two third sector representatives (from
Mencap and Autism Initiatives) and two members of the ASC community.
Longer term work has also started including bringing in compulsory Oliver McGowan training for all healthcare staff.
It also plans to provide support to Manx Care in their work to significantly increase the capacity of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
(CAMHS).
The work will also involve recruiting an extra six members of staff to help reduce CAMHS waiting list times.
