Vagabonds Ladies suffered a second close defeat in as many games as they pushed the league leaders close on Saturday.
The Manx side lost 15-12 to the Manchester side in Women’s NC2North, a win which put the hosts top.
With two tries coming from Maylyn Campbell and a conversion from Sammie Mac, Vagas pushed Eccles all the way, only for the home side to run in three ties themselves.
Vagas said: “A hard fought game today at Eccles, unfortunately we lost out again by only a few points! The girls put their all in for the first away game of 2025, and will definitely need rest and recovery tomorrow!!
“Onto the positives Bliss came away with the opposition player, with Greeba winning on the forwards and Freya for the backs! Well done girls.”
The side’s next game is on Saturday February 8 at home to Winnington Park Ladies.
