Vagabonds Ladies team ended their home campaign with a comprehensive 56-5 victory over Littleborough.
The club marked International Women’s Day with an afternoon of events including the grandstand win.
Maylyn Campbell and Freya Crowe ran in four tries each with Leona McGovern and Greeba Tasia adding one each and Sammie Mac kicking the rest of the points from the tee.
The team said: “The pressure was on from the start, with a 70-person Women’s Day sponsor lunch hosted by Gallagher, the presence of our Patron Lady Lorimer, and an incredible pre-match cheer from Unity Dance School setting the scene for a special day.
“We knew we had to put on a show—and we certainly did!
“We came out hard and fast, playing fantastic rugby. Big scrums led to early tries, setting the tone for a strong first half. Just before the break, Littleborough managed to sneak in a try, but we quickly regrouped.
“The second half saw us switch back on, continuing to dominate despite a few unfortunate injuries for Littleborough. In the spirit of the game, we called it slightly early, securing a well-earned bonus point.
“Post-match, the celebrations continued in style! With fancy dress, great company, and plenty of fun, we rounded off an unforgettable Women’s Day alongside Littleborough and Gallagher.”
That win takes Vagas third in Women’s NC 2 North (South) ahead of next week’s season finale, which coincidentally is a return clash with Littleborough.
