Due to several factors, verge cutting on the Heritage Trail has not progressed quite as quickly as the DoI had planned.
The Department says that some factors could not be helped, although others could.
The contractor reports that people have ignored the closure signs and carried on using closed sections of the trail.
This has meant that the flail work has to be halted until people have passed by and has caused delays.
Heritage Trail Verge Cutting
Currently work has progressed as far as Kerroo Garrow Road in Greeba, and work west of this is complete.
In order to complete work on the rest of the trail, the closure order has been until the end of the day on October 5.
The trail will be open for use over the weekend and Monday September 30.
Closure
From October 1 the trail will once more be closed incrementally from Kerroo Garrow Road, heading east towards Braddan.
There will be closed road signs erected to indicate where work is underway.
Please do not pass through these signs, as every time someone does, work has to stop and delays ensue.
The closures will be in place between 9:30am and 4pm while the contractor is on site.
