WATCH: Charlie Tries Smoky Sam’s

A local couple are over the moon to have officially opened their new smokehouse in the heart of Castletown today.

Owners of Smoky Sam’s Smokehouse, Nicole Crawley and Sam Levi said they have been completely “blown away” by the public support.

Nicole and Sam decided it was the right time to grow the business from Port Erin and plant permanent roots in Castletown.

Smoky Sam’s

Speaking about the new restaurant Nicole said: “It’s just something a little bit different, we want to be very family orientated.

“But you know if you and your mates want to come on a Saturday night and have a little bit of food but cocktails and beers afterwards, that’s also possible.”

When the former home of Secret Pizza Co. became available, it was a no brainer for them, and the chill-vibes of Smoky Sam’s Smokehouse in Barrack Square came to life.

Charlie Tries

I was already very familiar with Smoky Sam’s from it’s summer appearance last year at Foraging Vintners in Port Erin, and couldn’t wait to fill my face at their new home.

Upon arrival I quickly realised I was like a child in a sweet shop; Cocktails, Mac n Cheese, Pulled Pork Sandwiches and the DIRTIEST of Dirty Fries.

I can confirm, I was not disappointed, but only elated at the service, vibes and the un-bloody-believable yummy goodness that we call food.

Now, fear not Port Erin lovers! As well as running the Castletown restaurant, the dynamic duo will still be blessing us with their culinary delights at Port Erin from March 14.

Menu

Sam told Charlie the kind of tastes people can expect when they visit: “It’s a world inspired BBQ, so we use traditional kind of like Texas BBQ methods and then introduce big bold world flavours.”

The menu will see the return of Smoky favourites like the Tennessee Pulled Pork Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Wings, and it’s Smoked Chocolate Brownie.

Along with some new dishes like Manx Ribeye Steaks cooked over open fire, BBQ King Prawns, and the Ultimate Pitmaster Tray.

It will be open for lunch on Wednesday through to Friday from 12pm – 2:30pm and for dinner from 5pm – 9pm.

On weekends the bar and kitchen will be open from 12pm until 9pm.
