After over 50 years of entertaining thousands of people, Little Miss Dynamite is set for the gig of her life this weekend.
AKA Linda Caulfield, Little Miss D has been a mainstay of the Manx circuit with her high energy performances raising the roof most Saturday nights.
This weekend will see Little Miss D headline her own show at the Villa Marina, with money raised going to Hospice Isle of Man.
She told Manx.News how her dad had got her into playing in front of crowds by giving her name at bands around Douglas.

“Funnily enough, it all started when I just go around the pubs in the summer in the 70s with the family, because in those days, Douglas was, well every place had bands on,” she said.

Little Miss D got her chance when Tom Valley asked her to perform for the season at the Falcon Cliff and from there she’s played everywhere from Glen Helen to Rushen Abbey.
Grandad’s Friend
Such has been the longevity of Little Miss D, she said she has performed for generations of families.
Indeed when the name Little Miss D appears outside a pub announcing she’s playing that weekend, other than full bar, the thing that can be guaranteed of is a wide range in the age of her audience.
She said: “I’ve seen one generation and then the next generation, and now they’ll come up and say, “you’re a friend of my granddad’s”.”
And while her fans have spanned generations, so have her family, with her son Lee joining her on stage at the Villa as part of the band Bahuki.
Little Miss D said she’s been “really lucky” to have been able to carry on enjoying performing to crowds and thanked everyone who turns out to watch her wherever she plays.

While remaining tight lipped about set list for Saturday, Little Miss D said she still can’t quite believe she’s okaying the Royal Hall.
She said: “Because I’ve always been the warm up act for Freddie and the Dreamers, The Searchers and all that, so to me, all of a sudden I’m looking at that, when I come past the poster, I’m going, whoa, is that me!”
While admitting to some “nervous excitement” Little Miss D said she is ready for the weekend and cannot wait to see everyone who turns up for.a gig that is more than 50 years in the making.
