Wednesday morning sailing to leave early

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company (IOMSPC) has made changes to Wednesday (January 31) morning sailing due to the weather forecast.

The morning sailing scheduled to depart Douglas at 8:45am has been changed to 7:30am with passengers being asked to check in no later than 6:45am.

This sailing is still subject to possible disruption/cancellation. The Master of the ship will make a final decision at 6am on Wednesday morning.

Afternoon sailing

The 2:15pm scheduled return sailing from Heysham to Douglas, is also subject to possible cancellation or disruption.

Wednesday weather

According to the Ronaldsway Met Office, Wednesdays weather is going to be largely cloudy with rain for a time in the afternoon or evening.

Whilst the wind speed is currently giving a south westerly 20-30mph, veering W or North West 15-20mph overnight into Thursday (February 1).

With the comments ‘strong winds until later’.

Although looking on the ever reliable (take that as you will) XC weather, there are gusts of up to 54mph hitting the Irish sea around midday and up to 60mph by 3pm.

The wind will the drop off into Thursday morning with a lovely little breeze of around 20mph across the Irish Sea.
