This is your final warning that the ‘big day’ is now less than 24 hours away and some of us still have lots to do.
Some of us hate it, and others love it, but regardless many of us will now realise we are very badly prepared and haven’t got half the Christmas dinner, and less than half of the presents.
A few of us may still be asking where on earth are we going for Christmas Day and are already formulating an escape plan if worst case scenario ends up being a reality.
Do I have the answers to that? Nope. If you have them – feel free to let me know!
Christmas Eve Tick List
I’m going to use this as an opportunity to write myself a reminder list of what I have left to do, and maybe if you’re as chaotic as me, you’ll find it useful.
If you have your life together and don’t need it and laugh down your nose at me, good for you!
I hope one day you’ll join some of us who don’t know arse from elbow.
- Buy presents for pretty much everyone. Now this can be awkward when its 6pm and the shops have shut, so what I’d recommend is going around the house and find items you don’t use (or someone bought last Christmas you didn’t really want it) and wrap them up and hope no one notices – sardines? Oh I thought you loved them?! A block of butter, it’s useful?
- Search the shelves of Tesco for the remaining food and hope there will be enough to create some form of Christmas dinner.
- WRAPPING PAPER! Must purchase this one, and if theres none left use tinfoil and say its reusable and you’re doing your bit for the environment.
- Booze. Lots of booze – this might actually take priority over everything.
- Bring a board game that will inevitably cause a family feud – thus resulting in escape plan.
- Try not to get too drunk this evening and ruin Christmas Day by having a grade A stinking hangover and holding down puke at the dinner table – yes this does have to be a reminder, but so for my brother than for me.
Have a holly jolly Christmas, and don’t worry Grinch’s it’ll all be over in 48hrs time and we can go back to our grumpy ways.
