There’s been moaning and grumbling about the cold spell, but its ok because the glorious wind and rain is making a return this weekend.
Wave goodbye to your subzero temperatures, as we are once again met by potential ferry cancellations and gale force winds – your umbrella won’t be of much use.
Saturday weather
It will be wet at first this morning (January 20), but will largely clear for a time before further rain returns later in the afternoon.
The rain will potentially turn heavy for a time overnight into Sunday before clearing away.
Although a strong southwest wind will increase a gale force southerly for the evening.
A top temperature of 9°C and a low of 5°C.
Not a great Sunday
Its a day to tuck up on the sofa and avoid going outside at all costs, unless you have animals, then good luck.
Windy and turning wet on Sunday (January 21) with further rain arriving during the morning, which will turn heavy at times in the afternoon.
Strong to gale south or southwest increasing further in the afternoon or evening with a risk of severe gales developing and the potential for disruption – haven’t you missed it?!
Highest temperature of 11°C and lows of 5°C.
Outlook
Sunny spells and a small risk of isolated blustery showers for Monday (January 22), with a risk of it being wet by the end of the night into Tuesday.
Wind will be a westerly or south-westerly 35-45mph with glorious gusts of 50-60mph, panic not as they will decrease 20-25 later on.
Rain, rain and more rain
Tuesday (January 23) its going to rain, which will be heavy at times, but will clear later in the day with clear intervals developing.
It starts off not so windy with 20-25mph, but will pick up to gusts of 60mph later in the day.
I’m not encouraging a sick day, but if you were to have one, a day when the Met Office comments are “Strong to gale force winds. Risk of heavy rain”… that would be the day I’d take.
