The Enterprise Minister has been asked for updates on two separate areas of departmental work, retail sector pressures and references to workplace searches in a recent consultation.
In a written question from Jason Moorhouse, Tim Johnson MHK was asked when his department last received an update from retail representatives on the challenges facing businesses and staff, and what came out of those discussions.
The query follows ongoing concerns about trading conditions, staffing pressures and the wider cost environment for local retailers.
A second question sought detail on responses to the department’s consultation on annual leave and rest breaks.
Specifically, it asked how many respondents raised issues relating to searches in the workplace, and what assessment has been carried out on those comments.
Both questions are due to be answered later this month.
