The government says it will work with Manx Telecom’s new owners over the potential impact of the change in ownership.
Manx Telecom announced last week that it has been sold to JT Group and CVC DIF, the former being owned by the Jersey Government.
A spokesperson said: “‘The Isle of Man Government understands that the announcement that JT Group and CVC DIF have formed a strategic partnership to acquire Manx Telecom is positioned with real potential to support sustained investment into the resilience and quality of connectivity that supports our community and economy, and is a sign of long term confidence in the digital capabilities of the island’s telecoms and data infrastructure.
“Over the coming weeks and months we will continue to work with Manx Telecom and the broader group to better understand the potential impact of any change of ownership.”
