How the Ben-my-Chree is used and her role in growing sea services is to be questioned in the Keys.
Chris Thomas will ask Treasury Minister Dr Allinson about the former flagship’s role in the Steam Packet’s fleet on Tuesday.
The Douglas Central MHK will ask how many freight and passenger trips Ben My Chree provided last month; what services she will provide this year; and what plans the Steam Packet has to use her to grow sea services.
With tide issues and operational decisions seeing Manxman staying in Douglas, the Ben has carried out several round trips to Heysham in recent weeks.
She has also been used as a film set by the BBC for its series This City is Ours and was chartered to Stena Line last year to help with its issues following the damage caused at its Holyhead Port.
