Bus Vannin has explained a broken washing machine is behind the state of its buses in recent weeks.
It said it too has noticed the state of the buses recently and said it’s not something it’s proud of.
The bus operator said the issue is its automatic bus wash broke down before Christmas.
It said: “We have been chasing delivery of the replacement part every day, but it still hasn’t arrived.
“Hand washing is the only alternative and whilst we have been trying to keep on top of things, the additional salt and grit on the roads during the cold weather has made it a bit more challenging.
“Gary and Matty have managed to wash 8 today, but it takes a bit longer to wash a bus than it does a car!”
