Alf Cannan has refused to answer if he will quit as Chief Minister if Tynwald rejects a new proposed minimum wage.
The Chief Minster gave an update on his administration after he sacked two ministers on Monday.
During his statement, Mr Cannan announced that the government will proposed a 5% increase in the minimum wage, down from the 9.9% which Tynwald has already agreed.
In response to this, Lawrie Hooper asked: “If Tynwald turns around and says, actually, we don’t agree with this new new new direction the Chief Minister proposing, will he resign?”
Mr Cannan said he would see how members vote.
