Batten down the hatches lads, Storm Kathleen has managed to inflict a yellow weather warning upon us in April, yes APRIL!
I wish this was a delayed April Fools, but alas it isn’t.
The weather warning for rain, severe gales and coastal overtopping comes into place 11pm tonight and will stay in place until 9pm tomorrow (April 6).

Another period of persistent and heavy rain tonight between about 10pm and 3am.
Totals expected to be 10-15mm around the coasts, with 15-30mm on the hills.
Some localised flooding is likely for a time, but the rest of tomorrow will be mainly dry.
Southerly gales and severe gales will develop tomorrow morning, with gusts of around 60mph in places.
Travel disruption likely, with some minor damage possible (e.g. tree branches blown down), before winds ease during evening.
Gales in April occur, on average, once every 2 or 3 years, ok so they are less likely than mercury retrograde but still as turbulent.
Also, some coastal overtopping likely at around time of high tide tomorrow morning (approx, 10:25am), with further updates on coastal overtopping likely to follow for later in weekend.
Yellow weather warning means, ‘Be Aware’ – Risk of bad weather affecting activities – Some travel delays, risk of minor damage, localised or temporary disruption.
