IOM Meats looking to add to its board of directors

Isle of Man Abattoir, Isle of Man Meats (Library Picture EMUK)

Isle of Man Meat Company (IOM Meats) is looking for ‘suitable candidates’ to become non-executive directors on the board.

It says it would particularly be interested in candidates with a strong background in the red meat sector (including farming and/or processing).

It will be offering £7k per annum for the position.

Think you could turn IOM Meats around?

If you think you could provide some help to the plant that is under quite some scrutiny, send your CV and cover letter to DEFA or email marie.collins@gov.im.

Meat Plant troubles

Over the Easter Bank Holiday several butchers took to social media to explain the issues they are facing in getting produce from Isle of Man Meats.

Andreas Meat Company say it has had “to put the majority of our beef products out of stock on the website as a temporary measure”.

Tate’s Traditional Butchers have blamed Isle of Man Meats for ‘not having a skilled workforce, lack of communications between departments and no leadership’ for its lack of produce.

It say it ‘once again’ had no dog meat.

Adding, ‘We should not have to apologize for IOM Meats incompetence’.
