Youth Club Needs Volunteers

The Hospital Youth Service is launching a new Youth Club in April, and is looking for budding volunteers to help run the sessions.

Youth Club sessions will take place every Wednesday at The Roundhouse, Braddan between 5pm and 7pm.

Volunteers must have an interest in games along with arts and crafts, as volunteers will be encouraging young people to participate and socialise.

Ben Melling, Hospital Youth Co-Ordinator, said:  “A lot of young people with health conditions feel isolated, so it is important that there is a safe space where they can relax, make friends and have some enrichment – these are the primary aims of the Hospital Youth Club.

“Volunteering is extremely rewarding for all involved and offers a sense of belonging; this is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys activities and wants to give something back to the young people in the community.”

Ben Melling, Hospital Youth Co-Ordinator.

Previous experience of working with young people aged 11-16 with health conditions is desired, but not essential.

If you are interested in a volunteering, please contact Ben Melling, Hospital Youth Co-Ordinator, at hospitalyouthservice@gov.im or by calling 07624 212606.

All volunteers will be subject to a DBS check.
