Zurich will open applications for its Summer Internship Programme next week, offering 10 places for young people to gain experience at the insurer’s HQ.
The initiative, now in its fourth year, is open to school leavers, students and graduates aged 16 or over. The vacancies will be listed on the company’s careers website from March 25 until April 15.
Successful applicants will work 35 hours a week in roles across ten teams, including Finance, Actuarial, Communications and Risk Management.
Internship dates can be agreed flexibly based on availability.
Looking Forward
Karen Mercer, Head of HR at Zurich on the Isle of Man, said: “Our Summer Internship Programme is now in its fourth year, and each year interest in gaining a place increases.
“We’re looking forward to receiving applications this year, and to meeting the interns who will join us at Zurich House this summer.”
As part of the programme, interns also take part in initiatives supporting local charities. In 2025, participants raised more than £13,000 for Hospice Isle of Man with support from other companies and match funding from the Z Zurich Foundation.
Matthew Bell, a 2025 intern who worked with the Financial, Accounting & Reporting team, said: “Working with Zurich was a truly rewarding experience.
“The Hospice project in particular has been incredibly insightful. Not only did I develop valuable people skills and teamwork, but I also learned the importance of time management while meeting tight deadlines.
“Being part of the Hospice project opened my eyes to the essential role charities play and just how much their work positively impacts lives. I was grateful for the opportunity to contribute and to grow both professionally and personally.”
Zurich will have a stand at the Locate Isle of Man Young Adults & Graduate Fair at the Villa Marina on April 1.
