A written Tynwald question due for answer this week has been unexpectedly delayed, with no explanation given for the change.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge is seeking the publication of all government‑commissioned reports on the Isle of Man Meat Plant produced since October 2022.
She has asked Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Clare Barber to confirm whether such reports exist and whether they will be made public.
The written answer was originally scheduled for March 19 but has now been pushed back to March 26, with no reason provided for the delay.
Ms Edge’s request covers any reviews, consultancy work, operational assessments or strategic reports commissioned by the Government since the Birnie Report in 2022, which examined the plant’s performance and future viability.
The Meat Plant continues to attract political scrutiny, particularly around transparency, financial sustainability and progress on implementing the 2022 recommendations.
