£11m Flats Opened

The former nurses home, now called Thie Clag, has been officially opened after its £11m refurbishment by the Manx Development Corporation.

Delivered at a cost of just under £300,000 per flat, the 37 flats will soon be occupied with rents starting at £795 for a one-bed flat.

Speaking at the opening, the Chief Minister said it marked a “significant achievement in our journey towards sustainable development and community enhancement on the Isle of Man”.

He added: “The MDC was founded with a clear mission: to regenerate brownfield sites on the Isle of Man as part of the commitments this administration set out within the Island Plan.

“Thie Clag is more than just a building; it is a symbol of progress and a positive step for the future of regeneration on our island. It exemplifies the strategic focus of our government and the vital role of the MDC in ensuring that these goals are achieved.”
