Crews from the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service were called to a flat fire in a property on Tynwald Street, Douglas, last night (July 26).
The fire started due to a toaster being placed on the hob and the wrong ring turned on.
The owner, when alerted by the smoke alarm, promptly turned off the hob and used a fire blanket to smother the toaster.
Douglas crews removed the toaster and set to clearing the flat of smoke.
