Ryan Crowe says he and brother Callum didn’t think their record lap speed would come given the windy conditions on Monday.
The pair delivered the first-ever 121mph lap by a sidecar at the TT as a blistering 121.021 mph secured a third TT victory.
“”Honestly I didn’t intend it. I didn’t think that would come—it’s that windy out there,” Ryan said in the post race interview.
“It was just mint the whole way around, it was lovely, couldn’t knock it at all.”
Callum also praised the team behind the brothers for all their work in the week and during the winter months to prepare for their moment.
The duo finished in 18 minutes 42.35 seconds, three seconds inside the lap record previously held by Ben Birchall and his now retired brother Tom.
Birchall was still the nearest rival for the Crowes with passenger Patrick Rosney, while Lee Crawford and Scott Hardy earned their maiden TT podium.
