Treasury has agreed to release £10m in contingency funding to mitigate in-year cost pressures.
The funds are “to be phased into the position in twelfths,” according to the Minister for Health and Social Care, Claire Christian.
The announcement comes as Manx Care forecasts a persistent £9 million overspend against its £361.8 million operational budget for the 2025/26 financial year.
Forecasts showed a projected spend of £370.8 million as of August 31, identical to the July forecast.
The Minister confirmed the health body’s core budget “includes a mandated 2% efficiency target (£7 million) and represented a 4% budget increase (£14.8 million) on the prior year budget.”.
