The average time it takes a person to see GP and how this impacts A&E at Noble’s will be under scrutiny when the Keys sit tomorrow.
Jason Moorhouse will ask the Health Minister about the issue and what is being done to improve the situation.
The latest government latest figures show that the island has the fewest GPs it has had at any point since 2012 and has an average of 2,689 patients per GP
Over the past 12 years, the number of GPs on the island has fluctuated and it was in during 2016 where the decline became more apparent, with a slight increase in 2021.
However, from 2021 onwards the number of GPs on island has dropped from 41.8 to 32.2.
