The Western Civic Amenity Site says it won’t be taking rubbish from the northern parishes during the closure of the Balladoole site.
The site says it won’t be allowing residents to use its facilities “due to limited capacity”.
Balladoole is expected to reopen in mid to late April 2026 following a changeover period between operators, Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall told Keys earlier this week.
While he said residents could use sites, the WCAS said: “Our facility is funded by the ratepayers of the five western parishes and, as such, we must prioritise service for this community.
“Address verification procedures will remain in place on site, and access will be refused to individuals residing outside our designated service area.
“Therefore, visitors should be prepared to provide proof of address if requested.”
