Airport Hosts Day to Support Neurodivergent Travellers

The airport has held a ‘Getting Flight Ready’ day designed to help neurodivergent travellers and families practise the airport journey in a calm, low‑pressure environment.

The session guided attendees through each stage of travel, check‑in, security screening, boarding and even a visit to the flight deck with Loganair crew.

Families said the experience helped reduce anxiety and build confidence ahead of future trips.

Airport staff Carole, Maddie and Eric, along with Loganair crew members Sam and Ian, supported the event, which the airport says is part of its commitment to making travel more accessible and predictable for passengers who may find busy terminals overwhelming.

The airport highlighted two young attendees, Mack and Matthew, whose enthusiasm underscored the value of the initiative.

A further Neurodiverse Open Day will take place in July, with the airport inviting families who feel they would benefit to register their interest via its website.
