The Isle of Man Trades Council has issued a sharp critique of the Council of Ministers reshuffle, dismissing claims of a government reset and branding the move a sign of failure.
In a strongly-worded statement, the body argued that the mid-term changes signal a government that has lost its way.
“Let’s call this what it is — this reshuffle isn’t a reset, it’s an admission that things aren’t working,” its said on Facebook.
“Governments don’t reshuffle ministers mid-term because everything is going well. They do it when they’ve lost direction and can’t keep their own house in order.”
The Council highlighted the disruption caused by the movement of senior politicians, saying: “The constant chopping and changing doesn’t stay at the top.
“It lands on departments, on staff, and on services. People are left trying to deliver work while priorities shift and accountability disappears.”
