The second day of the Royal Manx Agricultural Show is upon us and the weather is hopefully going to bring us all the good vibes.
Any patchy light rain at first will quickly clear, to leave the rest of the day largely dry with sunny intervals.
It will feel pleasantly warm in the sunshine and light to moderate south-westerly breeze, with temperatures reaching up to 19°C.
The sun came up at 5:48am this morning, but, much to my disgust, it will set at 8:58pm – the first sign that winter is creeping in as the nights start to close.
Hangover Vibes
Now whether you have a hangover from over-indulgence, or lack of sleep from severe graft, you’ll have a lovely day to rot in peace and sunshine.
We will be blessed with sunny spells tomorrow (August 11) with light to moderate easterly winds and temperatures up to 20°C.
Sadly, it was too good to last as then a few showers may develop later in the evening or overnight, possibly turning quite heavy at times (not. a. vibe.)
Birthday Week
Enough about the Royal Show, it is now ALL ABOUT ME. It’s my birthday on Saturday, August 17 (you can send fan mail and flowers to Energy FM’s studio) and I can almost guarantee it will rain.
I haven’t actually looked yet but it normally does, except for when I was born and Dad was very busy on a combine – it shouldn’t have taken you this long to realise I was a feral farm kid.
T-5 days until my birthday aka Monday (August 12) is forecast to be mainly dry with bright or sunny intervals, although there is small risk of heavy showers at first.
It’s gonna be a hell of a windy day for this time of year with a SE 15-20 wind, which will soon veer W and decrease 5-10, backing S or SW and increasing 20-25 with gusts of up to 40 in exposed areas later.

Anyway, T-4 days until my birthday, Tuesday (August 13) has forecast blustery showers at first, turning heavy at times (risk of 10mm of rain!!!), with sunny intervals developing later.
The wind will be a S or SW 20-25 with gusts of up to 40 in exposed coastal areas, decreasing 15-20 with gusts of 35 in the afternoon.
Then veering W or SW and decreasing 10-15 later.
Told you the weather turns s*1t as my birthday approaches, but don’t blame me – I’m just the messenger.
Enjoy your weekend, whatever that may be, but do make sure you pop down to the Royal and support your local businesses – to be honest, that’ll do as a birthday pressie.
