Castletown Town Commissioners says it has reported an incident of abuse towards a member of staff to the island’s Constabulary.
The authority said it is “committed to providing a respectful and safe environment for both our customers and staff”.
The Commissioners said it contacted the Police due to “abusive language and threats directed towards a staff member”, saying that it will “reserve the right to take appropriate measures to protect our staff against any unacceptable behaviour”.
The authority said: “We wish to make it explicitly clear that abusive, offensive, or threatening behaviour towards our staff, whether in person, by telephone, online comments, or through written correspondence, will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a respectful workplace for all.”
