The owner of 1886 has submitted plans to extend its opening hours to allow it to serve breakfasts.
Thompson Holdings Limited wants to open from 8am in the morning.
Currently the business is allowed to open from 11am to 3am Sunday to Thursday and to 3:30am on Friday and Saturday nights.
If its application is approved, it would open from 8am with its closing hours remaining the same.
James Thompson said: “By opening earlier, we can serve customers who maycotherwise be unable to enjoy our services during our current hours.
“Additionally, the extended hours will help us provide a welcoming environment for people looking to enjoy refreshments from an earlier hour in the city centre.
“By offering breakfast, we can cater to tourists, early risers, commuters, and those who prefer to start their day with a meal outside of their homes.
“This can attract a consistent stream of customers from the moment we open, particularly in city centre where there can be heavy foot traffic due to nearby business districts and city centre construction projects, tourists, in particular the predicted cruise passengers.”
