Beach Buddies is beginning a new programme of events at new venues all over the island from this weekend.
The charity said it has received reports that part of Douglas is in a bit of a mess, so has decided to start there.
Its first such event is at the Quarterbridge car park on Sunday, March 9, at 10.30am.
Sadly the car park is frequently decorated in wrappers from the American embassy just down the road, despite the efforts of the company which does employ staff who try to clear the area.
The charity said: “Beach Buddies is targeting a number of new areas in the coming months, including plantations, glens and footpaths.
“It’s an opportunity for volunteers to perhaps see somewhere new during the coming months. We won’t be forgetting our coastline, and will return to all of our regular beach venues during spring and summer.”
Parking on Sunday is in the Quarterbridge car park or the NSC car park on the other side of the river.
