A lighthearted podcast chat has sparked a new community fundraiser in aid of Rebecca House.
The initiative, Jump for Joy, will see supporters take on a charity bungee jump at the Southern District Agricultural Show this July.
The idea began during a conversation between His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and local podcaster Percy Hampton on What’s the Skeet, where the pair challenged each other to try a bungee jump.

The challenge soon evolved into a fundraising event, with all proceeds going to Rebecca House, which provides respite, palliative and end of life care for children with life limiting conditions.
The event is being run in partnership with the Southern District Agricultural Society, with the jump operated by the UK Bungee Club.
The Lieutenant Governor, Hampton and other supporters will take part during the Show to help highlight the importance of community backing for the charity.
Vicky Wilson of Rebecca House said the initiative shows “a wonderful example of community spirit,” adding that every jump will help the charity continue its vital work with children and families across the island.
Details on how to take part are available here.
